Manage your Shopify subscriptions in Claude

Connect your store to the Progus Subscriptions connector and manage Shopify subscriptions from a chat: pause, reschedule, fix failed payments, build plans.

You can run your Shopify subscriptions from a chat window. Ask "which of my plans lost the most subscribers last month", "move Anna's next charge to 1 September", or "show me every subscription with a failed payment and email them a link to update their card", and it happens in your shop.

That is what the Progus Subscriptions connector for Claude does. You add it to Claude once, point it at your store, and from then on you can ask for things in plain language instead of clicking through an admin. It works alongside the Progus Subscriptions app and only ever touches the one store you authorise.

What it looks like in a normal week

Finding things

  • "Show me every active subscription for [email protected]."
  • "Who are my twenty most valuable subscribers?"
  • "When is the next charge on Anna's subscription?"
  • "Which plans do I have, and what is on each one?"

Looking after one subscriber

  • "Pause Anna's subscription."
  • "She is away in August, move her next charge to 1 September."
  • "Skip her next delivery."
  • "She wants two bags a month instead of one."

Sorting out a failed payment

This is where a conversation beats a dashboard, because finding the list and acting on it are the same sentence.

  • "Which subscriptions have a failed payment right now?"
  • "Email them a link to update their payment method."
  • "Skip this cycle for the ones who still have not paid."

Building plans

Setting plans up across a lot of products is the job it shortens the most.

  • "Find my coffee products and put them on a monthly plan at ten percent off."
  • "Add a fortnightly option at fifteen percent off."
  • "Give the first two deliveries ten percent off and twenty percent after that."
  • "Add free shipping to the annual option."

Reading the numbers

Because it is a conversation, the follow up question is the valuable one: ask about churn, then ask which plans it came from, then ask to see those subscribers.

  • "What is my MRR and how many active subscriptions do I have?"
  • "How many subscriptions were cancelled last month, and how many started?"
  • "Show me retention over the last ninety days."

It is your real shop

Reading data is harmless, but pausing, cancelling, moving a charge date or emailing a customer are real changes that reach real customers straight away. Claude asks you to approve each one before it happens, and cancelling a subscription or deleting a plan cannot be undone, so the safe habit is to ask to see the list before you ask for anything to be done to it.

How to set it up

  1. Install Progus Subscriptions on your store, if it is not there already. Any plan works, including the free one.
  2. Open the connector in the Claude directory and connect it.
  3. Choose your store, sign in to Shopify and approve access.
  4. Ask it something harmless first, such as "what is my MRR", to check it is talking to the right shop.

To disconnect, remove the connector in Claude and its access is gone. There is more detail on the connector page.

Is it worth it

With a handful of subscribers, probably not: the admin is fine. It earns its place when the same small jobs keep coming back, when you want an answer that would otherwise mean exporting a report, or when you are setting up plans across a long list of products.

Add the connector in Claude, or start with the Progus Subscriptions app if you are not running subscriptions yet.
